Katana

Bio

The idea for this project was hatched over a poker game in late 2004. By 2005 the project was in motion and Katana was formed. Inspired by the likes of Air, Daft Punk, & Squarepusher. We rarely have a plan when we start. The songs tend to write themselves. We work from each other until the song says it's done. Katana is what happens when two bass players get together and record music in a closet. Mostly instrumental bleeps and blops making pretty little soundscapes.

Just click on the store tab on our page right above to buy some smooth jams. I've got some more to upload soon. Most of these were recorded in 2005 before Leo started playing with 3rd Eye Blind (what you say? what i say.) We still get together when time permits between our various projects so expect new oakland smooth here and there. best, Ryan Divine

Your music inspired my son, with his arm wrapped in a cast made of toilet paper and wearing an antique crystal necklace, to jump up onto the bed and perform a slow motion jig.

He then requested that I play Femme Fatale one. more. time!
